Take a look at how comfy our clients look in any of our three hardshell chambers: Moby, Pearl & Nemo…can you tell there’s a theme?!! The chambers are safe, spacious and comfortable. My favorite photo is the one where the client called us over to show us her note…We LOVE when people can experience relief from their challenges!
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a game changer for the prevention of illness; pre/post medical care, and simply put, for feeling more vital while you’re working towards anti-aging & longevity goals!
While many have heard about HBOT’s remarkable effectiveness for recovery from accidents & surgeries in hospitals, what's equally as fascinating is the potential for promoting recovery in HIDDEN INTERNAL WOUNDS. Wounds that often go unnoticed such as, the mental & emotional challenges of traumatic brain injury, depression & anxiety. In addition, hidden wounds from certain cancer treatments, such as radiation & chemo, can have lasting effects.
HBOT enhances repair of such unseen wounds through deeper oxygen delivery for relieving inflammation, stimulating neuroplasticity, moderating mitochondrial disorders and sharpening gross and fine motor skills.
The fact is, wherever INFLAMMATION lands and decides to challenge the mental, emotional or physical body - seen or unseen, HBOT can be a game changer for, and the hard-shell chamber is able to offer quicker results due to the oxygen availability to tissues from the deeper pressures.
So, what’s the big deal about getting more oxygen anyway? Isn’t it enough to simply learn to breathe more efficiently? NOPE! This is all about BioHacking - the science of UPGRADING your CELLS for health!
This non-invasive approach offers a systemic reduction of inflammation, recognized as a key factor in health issues. While celebrated as a biohacker’s favorite tool, HBOT also extends its benefits to individuals navigating more serious health challenges, and not simply for prevention. As a powerful modality, it bridges the gap between proactive wellness seekers and those seeking solutions when all else seems intangible.
The reason for this is increased oxygen delivery that supports the anti-inflammatory process AT CELLULAR LEVELS, and this is what is needed for more lasting change. It is what makes all the difference to minimize pain & discomfort from SEEN & UNSEEN wounds.
Just as we can become dehydrated from a lack of drinking enough water, with associated symptoms of headache, muscle ache and/or brain fog, similarly, our cells can become hypoxic: a state in which oxygen is not available in sufficient amounts - at the cellular level - to maintain adequate homeostasis.
Simply put, oxygen needs to be thought of as FOOD for cells…for our ENERGY!!! one example of how to think of O2 is to think of it similar to taking vitamin C, for example, in that we need to start thinking of O2 as a supplement. HBOT offers you the ability to build up a reserve of supplemental oxygen in tissues.
Why is a reserve important? If you take one vitamin C every other day and you skip a day while trying to fight a bug, is it going to be able to build up and supply you with what you need to recover? No, probably not. That vitamin needs to be taken multiple times a day, days in a row, in order to build up to the levels of it being in reserve…and that is when your immunity will be strong enough to fight & prevent issues. This same idea is how O2 builds with chamber sessions; not a one and done, and each client & situation requires individual protocols.
Now, let’s get back to talking about this tank & the deeper pressures it offers…
Pressurized Environment: Hardshell HBOT is a modality that involves the administration of 100% pure supplemental oxygen in a pressurized chamber. The client is placed inside the chamber, which is then sealed, and the pressure is slowly increased to levels greater than what is found at sea level.
Breathing Pure Oxygen: While inside the chamber, the person breathes 100% pure oxygen. Under normal atmospheric pressure, we typically breathe air that consists of about 21% oxygen, so the increased pressure - WITH - higher oxygen concentration - can result in significantly greater oxygen delivery & absorption to the body's tissues. A session lasts 60 min under full pressure, with the total time of getting up to pressure, and "landing” as we call it, can take up to 90 min for the ‘travel’ time, so to speak.
Why/How/What happens?
Hardshell chambers offer more flexible atmospheric pressures (ATA) which its ‘little sister’, the soft shell chamber, offers only 1.3 ATA (9 feet below sea level). You see, every person & situation is unique, therefore, we rely on the expertise of our medical director to prescribe which ATA is most beneficial for each individual and their particular condition.
Higher ATA’s of 2.2/2.4 are for those urgent cases requiring that level of pressure, and is prescribed by a practitioner with further supervision and breaks while in session*.
Here are examples of where HBOT can make an impact on hidden wounds:
✓ Depression Relief: Depression is often a silent struggle, but HBOT provides increased oxygen levels lead to improved mood and mental clarity. It stimulates the release of endorphins, the body's natural feel-good chemicals, helping to alleviate the symptoms of depression and bring back a sense of happiness. It also reduces the inflammation surrounding your Central Nervous System allowing for a better highway for those important fluids to circulate where they need to go.
✓ Anxiety Management: Anxiety can be paralyzing, but HBOT can be liberating. Oxygen therapy calms the nervous system, reduces stress, and aids your fight or flight response. It's a natural way to manage anxiety and regain control over your life.
✓ Recovery from Cancer-Related Damage: Cancer is a formidable adversary, and the treatments designed to combat it often leave a lasting impact. HBOT offers a way to address this damage and promote recovery:
Radiation Therapy Aftermath: The lingering effects of radiation therapy can include tissue damage and inflammation. HBOT accelerates healing by delivering oxygen directly to these affected areas, helping to alleviate pain and promote regeneration.
Chemotherapy Recovery: "Chemo brain," characterized by cognitive difficulties and memory impairment, is a common side effect of chemotherapy. HBOT aids in restoring cognitive function, mental clarity, and memory, providing a path to normalcy for cancer survivors.

✓ Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI): The brain is incredibly resilient, and with HBOT, we're unlocking its full potential. By saturating your plasma with pure oxygen, HBOT aids in repairing damaged brain tissue, reducing inflammation, and restoring cognitive function. Whether it's a concussion or a more severe TBI, HBOT has the power to heal and restore. Click here for research on Motor Function Improved with HBOT.
✓ Regeneration for Lyme Disease and Beyond: Lyme disease can have a profound impact on the body, often leading to debilitating fatigue and persistent symptoms. HBOT enhances the body's natural healing processes by way of detoxifying cells to pull out the toxic die off of the Lyme, which naturally improves energy levels and promotes overall wellness & recovery. HBOT is all about regeneration and revitalization at the cellular level, and that means LASTING CHANGE!
Benefits of Recovery through Hard-shell HBOT:
Enhanced Oxygenation: The increased pressure and higher oxygen levels received due to the deeper levels of atmospheric pressure offering more oxygen in the blood which can help improve the oxygen supply to damaged or poorly perfused tissues. This is particularly beneficial for tissues that have been injured, have reduced blood flow, or are experiencing inflammation.
Wound Healing: HBOT can accelerate wound healing, making it useful for conditions such as diabetic ulcers, non-healing wounds, and certain surgical incisions. The increased oxygen levels stimulate the growth of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) and promote collagen production.
Reduced Inflammation: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has anti-inflammatory effects, which can be helpful for conditions with excessive inflammation, such as certain autoimmune diseases: POTS, Sjogrens, Bechettes, RA, etc., and infections.
Treatment of Decompression Sickness: It is a vital treatment for divers who experience decompression sickness (the bends) due to the rapid changes in pressure associated with underwater activities.
Carbon Monoxide Poisoning and Smoke Inhalation: HBOT can help eliminate carbon monoxide from the body and improve oxygen delivery to tissues affected by smoke inhalation to help detoxify them of the poison for tissue recovery.
Radiation & Chemo Injury/Recovery: It is sometimes used to manage radiation-induced tissue damage, particularly for cancer patients who have undergone radiation therapy. For those of you who are assist in the medical field and are exposed daily, or dental professionals, for example, could benefit from preventive sessions for detox & immune boost purposes.
Certain Infections: HBOT can help fight infections that thrive in low-oxygen environments, such as some types of anaerobic bacteria…See the story below about Dr. Axe and his experience with infection.
Neurological Conditions: There is ongoing research into the use of HBOT for conditions like stroke recovery. It is believed that increased oxygen levels may aid in brain tissue repair by way of neurogenesis.
Still not convinced?
Well, let’s have Dr. Josh Axe tell you why he believes that oxygen can be more powerful than antibiotics to heal infection in certain cases.
