Light Therapy
Benefits Of Light Therapy
LED light therapy, also called photobiomodulation, is a non-invasive, painless, and therapeutic way to increase circulation reduce pain and inflammation. It is safe in the clinic or at home for all ages and skin types. By increasing circulation in the body and generating cellular energy, you may feel energized, younger, healthier, relaxed, restored, de-stressed, and lifted!
Our light therapy systems are FDA-cleared, professional-grade medical devices using near-infrared, red, and blue light waves. These robust systems transfer healing energy to the body at the cellular level. Light stimulates the release of nitric oxide from hemoglobin in the blood, promoting an anti-inflammatory effect on the body. This stimulation ignites the body's natural healing ability to regenerate tissue, reduce pain and heal from the inside out.
Light therapy is a treatment that uses light to treat conditions such as seasonal affective disorder and jet lag. Light therapy is also being used to treat skin problems, including acne, psoriasis, eczema, and more.
The benefits of light therapy have been known for centuries. The ancient Greeks referred to the sun as the "best doctor." Hippocrates advocated exposure to sunlight for healing purposes. The first use of light therapy was done by an English doctor in 1842 who used sunlight to help heal his patients with tuberculosis (TB).
Is Light Therapy For You?
Light therapy is a treatment that uses a strong light to treat different mental and physical health conditions. Mental health conditions that can be helped by light therapy include Seasonal Affective Disorder, depression, and other mood disorders such as bipolar disorder. Light therapy may also help with sleep problems, fatigue, and some types of headaches.
Light therapy is used to help some people with mental health conditions because it helps regulate circadian rhythms. Circadian rhythms are the body's internal clock which tells us when we should be tired and when we should be awake and alert. When one or more of these rhythms get out of sync with each other, this can cause poor sleep or excessive sleepiness, mood swings, or even depression.
Light therapy works by stimulating brain cells in the brain called the hypothalamus. This regulates your body's internal clock (circadian rhythm), so your sleeping pattern and wakefulness are more consistent with each other.
How can I experience Light Therapy?
The choice is yours. Light therapy is offered free of charge inside our hyperbaric chambers.
