Home Use Class 2 Medical Grade Lights VERSUS Over-the-Counter Devices
by Lydia M. | In Light Hyperbarics News | January 2024 | Post #34
LSPro Light Systems has PROUDLY been carried by ILH for a DECADE now!
Cait & Edna are SERIOUS about their lights and they certainly do NOT COMPROMISE on quality! There’s a reason why they have chosen to stick with Dr. Zayd and LSPro. This system works and maintains its quality even after months and months of regular use!!!
LSPro Therapeutic Light Therapy System is a Class 2 Medical Device under FDA Classification…I don’t think over-the-counter devices can be trusted to deliver anywhere near the same level of quality.
The ladies and countless clients have experienced healing of many issues from using this system consistently throughout the years.
The healing over time comes from the following benefits:
Relief of minor muscle and joint aches, pain & stiffness;
relief of minor to moderate arthritis pain & mobility, or muscle spasms & cramping;
temporary increase in localized blood circulation;
temporary relaxation of tight, tense and overused muscles throughout the body, and/or
promoting the relief from mental healthy issues, such as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
The team at ILH believes that the ongoing use of light therapy may help provide longer term relief. I myself have experienced great benefits. I deal with chronic pain on my feet from bunions that I’ve had since a child. I have reduced the discomfort with LSPro Light Systems, and have experienced a 75% reduction in occurrence of flare episodes since I’ve used the pads. When the pain re-appears, I do consecutive sessions for a few days again and I’m good for weeks. In fact, whenever anyone complains of an ache, the first response from any of us is: “Go get the lights!”
Therapeutic Light therapy has been used in various fields of medicine, such as dermatology, and often used for acne & wrinkle reduction, psychiatry, sports and pain management. Medical devices that utilize light therapy come in different classes, with Class 2 being one of the most common.
Benefits & advantages of Class 2 Medical Device Light Therapy:
Safety: Class 2 devices are considered safe for use by the general public, as they emit a low level of radiation and have undergone rigorous testing and approval by regulatory agencies.
Versatility: Class 2 devices offer relief for various conditions, such as but not limited to, SAD, wrinkles, acne and muscle or joint pain, and really, any kind of inflammatory discomfort, making them a versatile option for home use.
Affordability & Accessibility: These devices are more affordable than Class 3, and therefore, readily available online with a referral or word of mouth from your “Boho” holistic friends, in medical spas, chiropractic/naturopathic offices & wellness centers, and can easily be incorporated into a person’s daily routine and for long term...you will look forward to going to sleep with the eye mask, and it is dreamy!

Which is Better - Red or Infrared Light Therapy? How about using them together? ABSOLUTELY!!
Therapeutic light therapy systems utilize artificial light sources to mimic natural sunlight indoors to help provide therapeutic benefits, so when we compare red light therapy and near or far infrared therapy, it’s important to understand that they’re not the same. They have differences and intended uses.
Red light therapy: Utilizing visible red light wavelengths, in the range of 630 to 660 nm, which can penetrate skin up to 6-8mm. This light is better for skin deep issues, such as tackling acne bacteria, reducing the first signs of wrinkle development, or reducing the itch and inflammation of a rash, whether the cause be internal or external reason for development, and the light doesn’t penetrate much further below the epidermis. It focuses on stimulating cellular energy production, promoting tissue repair, driving circulation to the area (oxygen delivery - food for cells), and therefore, reducing inflammation.
Infrared light therapy: Utilizing visible light with longer wavelengths - called the “pain” wavelengths, in the range of 810-950 nm, which can penetrate deeper into the body and be able to reach muscles, joints and even bones, to compare with the lower nm’s only reaching up to 8mm with using the red light alone.
This light focuses on increased stimulation of cellular energy production, greater circulation, promoting deeper and quicker tissue repair, and reducing those deeply inflamed areas to relax muscles, tendons, joints, etc.
Is it good to use them both together? YESSSS using both light spectrums is much more common and can offer greater benefits when combined, even blue light will be combined for such devices, as intended, for bacteria causing acne reduction. LSPro Systems uses combined lights on a collection of different sized and shaped LED pads, and they even have a pad using Pulse Electro Magnetic Frequency (PEMF) rows, as well.
The combined use of lights offers even greater circulation to an area from the therapy bringing more oxygen to hungry and depleted cells which can remove toxins more efficiently, and therefore, accelerate the healing process…AND ANTI-AGING!! Click here to read more about the science behind light therapy and how powerful it can be when used in combination therapy with HBOT (mild or hardshell)...talk about oxygen delivery…WOW!
The Therapeutic Light Therapy that ILH uses from LSPro Systems are
UP TO 10X MORE POWERFUL
than the average over-the-counter home option…WHAT? That’s a big difference!
The investment is worth going for higher quality, I promise! At home light system retailers cannot be fully or blindly trusted, in our opinion, to not allow bad co’s and ineffective products to be sold next to high quality systems, whether that be online, in big box stores or gyms & certain types of spas. It becomes a risky financial investment to find the right system for yourself and your needs.
Now, this does not mean that ALL at-home devices are ineffective. On the contrary, as pioneers in the industry, LSPro Systems have paved the way for higher quality, moderate price range, longer lasting, and verifiable symptom relief pads that are available to you without a prescription!
Types of At-Home Therapeutic Light Therapy devices/systems include:
Light Therapy Boxes: These are stand-alone devices that emit specific wavelengths of light to treat conditions such as seasonal affective disorder (SAD), sleep disorders, and to give a boost of energy. Prices ranging on average from $30 to $300each for typical desk size portable free standing versions, but can go into the thousands depending on size, and if they are the larger wall mounted devices.
Light Pads, visors, masks and goggles: These are wearable devices that provide focused light therapy to the eyes and face, with particular wave lengths for headache pain relief, anti-aging, acne, or tone/blotchiness, as examples. Prices ranging on average from $50 to $500each.
Light Therapy Lamps: These are designed to be placed on a desk or table and emit light at specific wavelengths to treat various conditions, such as SAD and the ability to refresh/refocus. Prices ranging on average from $100 and over $1000each.
Light Therapy Pad / Blanket, or even bed Systems: The pads are designed to be placed on different parts of the body with different sizes with specific wavelengths to help promote pain relief, give a boost of energy, help with anti-aging, and help relieve SAD $200 to $2000, and bundles or packages for $5000+, with beds being over 10K.
NOTE: The larger a bed, pad, blanket, lamp or box is, with more rows of LED lights, will deliver more effectiveness and reduce session time, versus a smaller pad with less LED lights. Many at home sets tend to be smaller, or with fewer rows of powerful LED lights.
