ILH is ready to help with HBOT & Therapeutic Light Therapy scholarships for victims of sexual abuse & trafficking…keep reading below!

Now, what does the research say about HBOT benefits for PTSD ?

“HBOT is perhaps the safest procedure in medicine used to treat brain injuries.”*

Trauma causes the brain to not function as normal, because when we experience a fight or flight situation, we hold our breathe, constrict our muscles, ability to think is reduced, we expend more energy, and subsequently, damaging hormones are released to keep us alive. I can attest to mHBOT working from personal experience and for my son who experienced a biochemical brain injury.

*The Amen Clinic

The basic “in’s & out’s” of how this works is that, “often, healing is inhibited by a restriction of blood flow (and oxygen) to the injured part of the body.  With HBOT, healing is promoted by maximizing the amount of oxygen in the blood that can reach the injured area, and it provides this extra oxygen naturally with minimal side effects.” www.amenclinic.com

Here is what is being promoted for active military & vets for trauma recovery… what some of these men have gone through and seen is the grossest trauma throughout our history. Trauma is trauma is trauma…same hormones FLOOD the system with a FIGHT or FLIGHT status in the body, and unfortunately hold those memories in cells for repeats of it in dreams & flash-backs, and OUT OF THE BLUE when you least expect it. It can happen when you hear a balloon pop, or ANYTHING, even a smell to pass bye you, and that “trigger” can create a trauma response in the body & mind that instantly causes imbalance in the environment in which cells live and express themselves. Are we turning - on or off - positive cellular expression?

There is growing belief in the military that HBOT is a GAME CHANGER for trauma, and THEY SHOULD KNOW!!

So much so that advocacy groups have begun to affect changes in policy decisions. Policies such as, promoting more scientific research and securing insurance coverage, not only from commercial sectors, but government issued coverage as well.

In recent years, Hyperbaric Medicine International (HMI) became ADVOCATE for HBOT! Their board of directors are highly impressive and well known, for instance, one of their directors is Lieutenant General (US Army) Retired, Michael Flynn who served as the National Security Advisor to the 45th President of the United States of America, and who has served all of us for over 33 years.

The VA should consider hyperbaric oxygen as a worthwhile treatment for vets…it’s time to shine a light on the health crises that have been simmering just beneath the surface. Chief among these is the alarmingly high rate of suicide among U.S. veteran…read more here!

If HBOT can promote the reduction rates of suicide and help trauma recovery in our vets, isn’t it logical to think it can promote healing in those effected by trauma in any other way as well? YESSSSSSS!!

Motions are continuously being made to promote the benefits of HBOT throughout our military and for vets & civilians alike, so that more acceptance will be had for financial coverage from the insurance industry, more availability nationwide, and better access for veterans to receive proper treatment.

Oh, and take a look at what else is a PASSION of Michael Flynn’s…

Let’s take his lead and DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!

ILH is ready to help with scholarships for victims of sexual trafficking, the police, case-workers, safe-home builders, volunteers, whistle blowers, military going in to save these kids, etc. Edna & Cait are extending their kindness to this group in our community as well. Contact us any way you want to talk about the interview/application process.

VOICES ARE SPEAKING OUT MORE & MORE!!

Each day more and more information is coming out through interviews taking place for the release of this movie. Big and powerful names that can make a difference are getting behind the cause.

As General Flynn states, “we must act. No more excuses.”

THIS IS WHERE YOUR DONATIONS FROM OUR EVENT WENT! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

We collected a good amount for Oak Bridge’s Closet. Thank you to everyone who donated, and a specially thanks to Julie Lewis, owner of Denim & Frills, a baby through juniors, and maternity wear consignment shop in Hazel Dell, for donating 8 of the large garbage bags you see in this picture. My family and I will be applying to become regular volunteers. I was blessed to be able to get a tour since the clients were off sight at a field trip. I was able to get a look into the hearts of the employees, these amazing women taking care of unwanted kids. Yes, you read that correctly…they’re unwanted.

These kids include those who are literally asked to leave the home for whatever reason: Parents can’t handle the behavior, they can’t find proper resources for mediation & counseling; others are trafficked kids from whatever market; run-a-ways, and/or those abused and needing relief from the streets, and the like.

Although this home is certainly holding memories of pain within its walls…t’s tangible and undeniable how much HOPE is felt there, and the care for the details that would matter to the kids look to be cared about. It is through guidance, resources & light given to the kids that has the potential to help them through.

I was greeted by the sweetest, most informative employee there who was more than eager to show me around and discuss the home and opportunities available. The moment I walked in I was overtaken with a presence of sadness, and a heaviness to be described as the weight of pain from all the years gone bye, and the kids who called this home…for one night, a couple weeks, a month or maybe a little bit more, or somewhat recurrently. I fell back from my tour and just began to pray over the space, and felt like weeping. I was asked to come along and see where the kids could safely sleep and bathe, so I quickly composed myself and prayed for strength, and was then shown the artwork a volunteer was doing in honor of the kids, and it became light again.

All areas of this home are clean, organized and pretty well stocked, albeit, items are older and worn, and appliances can break dow, so they’re always looking for donations of time, and not just money to help.

Items currently on list of priority:

  • Larger stuffed animals for the kids to hug as it is a “no touch” space.

  • Clothing for streets: Hoodies, appropriate shoes, jeans, beanies, as they are full of dresses and the like.

  • Toiletries for street: feminine products, oral hygiene, wipes, sanitizers.

  • Toiletries for home: Curly hair shampoo, conditioner, serums and appropriate brushes…NOT flimsy combs. Suave Coconut is only inexpensive brand that works for this hair type they have told me.

  • Bath Towels of all kinds are needed, and no micro-fiber.

  • Dirt for their garden boxes.

  • Maintenance for clothes dryer as they were using a clothes line recently for washes.

  • Also, they’re open for volunteers to spend time at the home for various ongoing projects with the kids.

We have started a FB group to try to keep this organized and growing: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1258530675023685/

Not sure where any of this will be taking us, but here we go, and let’s keep talking about it and building something beautiful for our community & youth!

We will post on our SM, through email & blogs about the update on purchasing a cinema - filling out form through Angel Studios today, and made a connection to see if Kiggins Theater would be interested in showing film for us; we’ll talk about the t-shirts then next to show solidarity against this issue; how to get involved with volunteering at the children’s home…..AND, when our next meetup with Tashina from Shared Hope will be, and we are making connections with other local activists to come speak, share and teach us what we can do…wasn’t Tashina AMAZEBALLS, YA’LL???!!!
